About Us

My name is Jim McCrary, and I have enjoyed organizing simple 2-3 day trips with my wife, Becky, for many years. Typically, we try to identify at least three things to experience as part of each trip…hence the name of the blog…

“3 Piece Trips”

We live in the Birmingham AL area and so many of our posts describe trips in the Southeast, although you will find “sampler excursions” on our site to all areas of the United States.

My love of sports will become evident to blog readers, and we have enjoyed experiencing sporting events (and venues) together. Becky’s love of arts and culture is also woven into our couple travel plans, creating many unique and entertaining adventures.

We like to call our posts “samplers” because they describe a select list of things to experience in an area; none are an exhaustive list of everything to do there. Most of our itineraries can be duplicated in 2-3 days at an affordable cost if you take advantage of airline and hotel point programs, and use a fuel efficient personal car for closer destinations.

We certainly appreciate every reader of our blog, and hope it inspires other couples to plan their own adventures soon. Let’s travel!
